UVALDE, Texas – The Uvalde CISD school board will consult an attorney throughout a closed session this week in regards to Pete Arredondo’s delayed termination hearing.
According to the school board’s agenda for its subsequent meeting on Monday, Aug. 15, the closed session will embody an attorney session about Arredondo’s termination hearing and “procedural rules, legal representation and updates on legal issues surrounding Robb Elementary property.”
It’s unknown if any choices will be made on Arredondo’s termination throughout the closed session.
This comes after two earlier UCISD board conferences postponed his termination, each on the request of Arredondo’s attorney. His destiny was imagined to have been initially determined on July 22.
UCISD Superintendent Hal Harrell really useful Arredondo’s firing after being blamed for the botched legislation enforcement response to the bloodbath at Robb Elementary School that claimed 21 lives on May 24.
Arredondo was positioned on paid administrative depart by the district almost one month after the taking pictures. Lt. Mike Hernandez has since resumed his duties.
Since the taking pictures at Robb Elementary, the Uvalde group has criticized the school board for not holding Arredondo accountable and a scarcity of safety on the school previous to the taking pictures, The Associated Press reviews.
Arredondo is the chief of a six-person division, and he was one of many first to reach on the scene of the Robb Elementary taking pictures — the worst school taking pictures in Texas historical past. Law enforcement waited over an hour earlier than confronting the shooter, and the blame has largely fallen on Arredondo.
