Brush fire causing delays northbound I-17 near Sunset Point

BLACK CANYON CITY, Ariz. — A brush fire near Sunset Point has closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 17 as a result of heavy smoke.

Crews are combating a primary alarm brush fire on I-17 near Badger Springs Road, the Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical stated.

As of 6:08 p.m., crews have stopped the ahead progress of the fire.

Officials advise drivers to decelerate, drive with care and count on delays.
