Fireworks spark 2 fires near 118 Freeway in Granada Hills – Daily News

GRANADA HILLS — Firefighters have been performing containment and overhaul Saturday for 2 fires that burned near the 118 Freeway — and authorities stated the blazes have been attributable to fireworks.

Witnesses instructed the California Highway Patrol that a number of individuals have been seen discharging fireworks from a black van, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey stated.

Firefighters have been known as round 8:51 p.m. Friday to the 118 Freeway near Hayvenhurst Avenue in Granada Hills, the place a brush hearth burned for an hour earlier than its progress was stopped by 73 firefighters, Humphrey stated.

Firefighters have been known as at 9:45 p.m. to a second hearth that burned a couple of quarter-acre of brush near the freeway and (*118*) Boulevard in Porter Ranch.

No accidents have been reported, and no constructions have been broken at both hearth, Humphrey stated. The quantity of acreage burned in the primary hearth has not been decided.
