Tempe district reviewing TikTok video of teacher yelling

The college district says the teacher at Marcos de Niza High School was positioned on administrative depart after a TikTok video confirmed them yelling at a pupil.

TEMPE, Ariz. — A video has been attracting tons of consideration on TikTok for capturing a Tempe Union High School District teacher loudly yelling within the face of a pupil.

The video exhibits the male teacher leaning over a pupil’s desk and screaming, “Phones away!”

“Yes, I did just spit on you; that’s how I talk,” the teacher’s heard saying within the video. “Do you understand? Phones away.”

The TikTok video was posted on Oct. 11 and has already been seen greater than 5 million instances. 

“In the end, authority will win…So just follow the rules,” the teacher is heard saying within the video. 

A spokesperson for the college district stated the teacher within the video works at Marcos de Niza High School and was positioned on administrative depart after the district turned conscious of the incident. 

In an announcement to 12News, TUHSD stated it couldn’t present particular particulars of the investigation however emphasised that the district is taking the matter “very seriously.”

“Like all organizations, we have processes in place for allegations against employees,” the spokesperson stated. “This begins with removing the employee from campus and opening an internal investigation.”

TUHSD added that it doesn’t condone or tolerate the kind of conduct displayed within the video. 

“This situation is extremely unfortunate, and it is not indicative of the wonderful community of teachers and staff that we have here at Tempe Union,” a district spokesperson wrote in an announcement.
