Swedish tourists robbed at NYC subway station on Christmas

Two tourists from Sweden have been amongst at least three straphangers robbed within the metropolis Christmas morning, police stated.

The focused foreigners, a 30-year-old girl and 31-year-old man, have been standing on the southbound R practice platform at twenty fifth Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, round 9:30 a.m. when a male criminal approached them, “simulated a firearm” and demanded they hand over their issues, in response to the NYPD.

The robber made off with the pair’s cell telephones, wallets, money and a handbag, cops stated.

The suspect wore orange sneakers, a grey coat, blue denims and a black face masks and had an Adidas backpack, NYPD stated.

The crime came about hours after an earlier theft on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the NYPD stated.

In that case, a Queens man had his iPhone stolen by two 16-year-old boys who proceeded to make a purchase order on the person’s Amazon account, police stated.

Cops stated the sufferer had been ready for a southbound practice at West 72nd Street and Broadway at 1:33 a.m. when the teenagers snatched his telephone.

During an ensuing wrestle, one of many teenagers punched the person with a closed fist, police stated.

The teenagers then fled and used their sufferer’s telephone to make an unauthorized buy at Amazon earlier than being picked up by police at Columbus Circle, authorities stated. It was unclear what the boys purchased.

The teenagers, who weren’t recognized due to their age, have been arrested and charged with theft, officers stated.
