SUV strikes several pedestrians, crashes into Bronx building

NEW YORK – Several individuals had been injured when a SUV jumped a curb within the Bronx. 

Chopper 2 was over East 163rd Street close to Prospect Avenue after the incident. The automobile struck several pedestrians after which crashed into a hair salon. 

As CBS2’s Tony Aiello stories, an NYPD officer aided the motive force, who was clearly shaken, after he backed his automobile into an African hair braiding salon, shattering a window and the nerves of salon proprietor Fatoumata Sow, an immigrant from Senegal. 

“We were sitting here, and it happened like one minute after,” Sow stated. 

She had simply left along with her toddler son Amadou to get lunch. 

“Where we were sitting is where it happened. I was shaking, and I just called me mom and said come take the baby,” Sow stated. 

Witnesses say the automobile injured a number of individuals who had been on-line for a Food Bank For New York City distributed occasion. 

Kayla Ruiz informed Aiello the scene was scary. 

“People crying on the floor, with blood, crying,” Ruiz stated. 

One man stated his mom injured. Nancy Pujols, 76, has a damaged leg and a number of cuts.

The salon proprietor worries about her injured neighbors and the monetary influence she now faces. 

“I got six kids,” Sow stated. “I work seven days a week because I got six kids. This happens like this, but thank God I stepped out with my newborn again.”
