Pierce College celebrates its 2022 graduates – Daily News

Los Angeles Pierce College celebrated its 2022 graduates at 6 p.m. June 7 on the 74th Commencement Ceremony at Rocky Young Park on the Woodland Hills campus. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the primary in-person graduation since June 2019.

The school welcomed about 150 graduates from 2021, who didn’t have an in-person graduation ceremony, together with 650 grads from the category of 2022. There are about 2,000 college students complete graduating this year from Pierce College, nevertheless not all attended the ceremony.

The school’s Interim President Aracely Aguiar congratulated the scholars as they walked on stage.

Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks, was the keynote speaker. The scholar speaker was graduating business main Yanise Daaku.

Pierce College is a two-year neighborhood school that’s a part of the 9 schools of the Los Angeles Community College District (https://www.laccd.edu/Pages/default.aspx). It was based in 1947 because the Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture.

Fun details: the faculty mascot is the Brahma Bull; the primary college students had been all male agriculture majors; the faculty colours, scarlet and crimson, had been chosen in 1947 by the scholars.
