Phoenix-area freeway closures expected during Veterans Day weekend

The Arizona Department of Transportation issued a weekend travel advisory highlighting a couple of key updates. Multiple closures will happen on Veterans Day weekend and Arizonans are suggested to plan forward for.

Closures will likely be in impact throughout the Valley primarily resulting from ongoing pavement initiatives, building, or drainage system initiatives.

Traffic situations can all the time be checked at

North Phoenix Interstate 17

  • Southbound Interstate 17 between Loop 101 and Greenway Road will likely be closed for ADOT’s ongoing pavement enchancment project.
  • Both Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17 will likely be closed.
  • Southbound Interstate 17 on-ramps at Pinnacle Peak, Deer Valley roads, and Rose Garden Lane can even be closed.

When: Closure could be expected from 10 p.m. Friday to five a.m. Monday.

Suggested detours: ADOT is advising drivers to permit further time for journey. Exit forward of the closure and use southbound nineteenth or thirty fifth avenues to journey past the closure. Also think about using southbound State Route 51 as an alternate southbound freeway route.
