HCSO Major Wayne Kuhlman stated the person known as 911 from his motel room claiming he had killed his spouse. He additionally instructed the dispatcher that he had a gun and knife.

When deputies arrived on the motel, they knocked on the door to his room. Kuhlman stated the person opened the door, instructed them he had killed his spouse after which shut it.
