New Phoenix crisis center will offer a wide range of services

New Life Center obtained a $25,000 grant from the Arizona Republic-sponsored Season for Sharing marketing campaign final year to help the group’s work with home violence survivors.

According to New Life Center, the brand new location will offer assist from advocates who work on behalf of survivors of sexual assault, violence, and human trafficking. Prevention and coaching departments will additionally function on the Sexual Violence Healing Services Center.

“With so few sexual assaults being charged, and successfully prosecuted, there leaves a large swatch of survivors who likely never engage with formal systems (police, prosecution, medical, etc.) for services, and this is the population gap that Sexual Violence Healing Services Center aims to address,” Scanlon added.

Scanlon will be managing the Sexual Violence Healing Services Center, which will function with 4 full-time staff.

“There, you can talk to an advocate or we also have also have a therapist on-site to provide services to anyone that has experienced sexual violence and that needs to be believed, needs to be listened to, and needs that person as an advocate to be able to share resources, to make sure that they start the healing journey in a trauma-informed way,” stated Mhoon.
