Good Samaritan arrives in time to save stabbing sufferer, ends up late for work

SAN ANTONIO – What started as a standard work day for Chris Caruso took a really completely different flip as he approached his regular downtown bus cease round 7 a.m. Tuesday.

“He was leaned over right here on the corner,” Caruso mentioned, pointing down the road. “(The victim) said, ‘Brother, help me.’ I said, ‘What’s going on?’ He said, ‘Man, I got stabbed.’”

Being that he was steps away from a hospital, Caruso says his first intuition was to run towards the emergency room entrance the place he hoped to discover a medical skilled to assist.

However, he says workers members instructed him to name 911 as a substitute.

“I got on the phone with 911, ran back. I just happened to have some gloves on me, put them on. They told me to keep pressure on it, on the wound,” he mentioned.

Police and paramedics arrived inside minutes, Caruso mentioned, and took over serving to the sufferer, who appeared to be badly harm.

“Whenever EMS got here and they lifted his shirt up, he had lost a tremendous amount of blood,” he mentioned.

The sufferer, who police mentioned is in his late 20s, was rushed to a hospital for remedy. Officers on the scene mentioned he appeared to be in critical situation.
