Gilbert council candidates talk management, growth and community

More than a dozen Gilbert residents attended a discussion board Monday to listen to from six of the ten candidates working for Town Council within the Aug. 2 election. 

Candidates, by way of a moderator, fielded questions from the viewers and resident submissions.  

Lynne King Smith, who ran for mayor in 2020, hosted the discussion board at her downtown business, Thrive Coworking for Women. 

Candidates responded to questions for the higher a part of two hours, delving into points resembling management, making a welcoming community and dealing with growth because the city exceeds 270,000 residents and nears buildout. 

Susie Jackson, who has lived in Gilbert for 18 years, stated she attended the discussion board as a result of she needed to listen to immediately from the candidates as a substitute of simply seeing the net rhetoric. 

She’s searching for “representatives who are kind and are looking for the best interests of our citizens.”
