Gearing up for a Springtime heat wave in San Diego

A big ridge over the West will crank up the heat much more into the weekend. Dangerously scorching temperatures will peak in the desert. A heat alert has been issued.

SAN DIEGO — It was one other gentle day alongside the coast as a shallow marine layer saved temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
