Family escapes serious injury after being hit by possibly intoxicated driver in Oceanside

A household, together with a child, was unhurt after a person possibly drunk, driving a pickup truck, hit their SUV on a street in Oceanside.

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — At least one individual was transported to an space hospital Sunday evening after being concerned in a doable DUI-related crash, in response to Oceanside police. 

Oceanside Fire Department responded to the 2800 block of Mesa Drive in the Oceanside space of San Diego County round 6:30 p.m. following experiences of a crash, officers with Oceanside police stated. 

When first responders arrived on scene, they found a black GMC Denali pickup trunk down an embankment with one individual trapped inside and one other white SUV on the roadway, a Sergeant with Oceanside Police Department stated.  

Video shared with CBS 8 from News Flash Media confirmed a person holding a child, believed to be two of the victims in the Lexus sedan when it was hit by the pickup truck.  

The crash’s affect severed a tire from the pickup truck’s axle, leaving it in the center of the roadway, further video clips confirmed. 

Oceanside police later confirmed the mom and father of the newborn had been all in the SUV when it was hit. 

Officers decided the suspect who brought about the crash was possibly drunk as their investigation unfolded. 

The suspect, solely described as a 40-year-old man, was taken to an space main trauma heart by air ambulance in unknown situation. 

The household concerned in the crash didn’t undergo any intensive accidents and was capable of stroll away from the crash, in response to police.

The crash is beneath investigation.
