Dealer sentenced for supplying fentanyl in Valley’s homeless camp

PHOENIX — A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to jail for supplying dangerous medication to folks residing at Phoenix’s downtown homeless encampment. 

Cristian Machado was sentenced final week in Maricopa County Superior Court after he pleaded responsible to possessing and trying to promote narcotics, in line with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  

Between May and June 2022, Machado provided fentanyl and methamphetamine to folks residing in the homeless encampment and was later apprehended by undercover detectives. 

In trade for pleading responsible, the courtroom agreed to dismiss a number of of the defendant’s authentic drug prices.  

Machado was sentenced to spend 3.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, adopted by 4 years of probation.
