5-month-old baby killed in Chicago drive-by shooting

A 5-month-old baby was killed in a drive-by shooting when a bullet hit her in the top as she sat in her father’s automobile Friday evening, police mentioned.

Baby Cecilia Thomas was in a automobile simply after 6 p.m. when a second automobile approached and opened fireplace on the car, fatally putting her in the top, WLS-TV reported.

She has lost two of her personal sons to gun violence and one other son was left paralyzed after he was shot.

“You never know what it’s like to have a broken heart until you go through it,” she mentioned.

The baby’s mom instructed a disaster responder that her daughter was heading dwelling to her on the time of the shooting.

“That’s a 5-month old baby. Nine months she carried that baby, nourished that baby,” Andrew Holmes instructed WLS-TV. “And it takes a damn fool to discharge that weapon and take baby’s life.”
